According to estimates by the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association, over 219 million Americans subscribe to a cellular service, a number that has exploded since the introduction of wireless mobiles in the 1990s.

This week, the now infamous cover of The New Yorker magazine portrayed Barack and Michelle Obama as Muslim terrorists, with a picture of bin Laden hanging on the wall and the American flag burning in the fireplace. Obama's camp made one comment on the issue, calling the image "tasteless and offensive."

The Office Student Activities treated UNC Charlotte students to a day at Emerald Pointe's Wet n' Wild water park. Allotted for 48 people, the day trip was scheduled to go from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The University provided tickets and transportation for the day. Bought at a discounted group rate, OSA used a portion of its summer budget on behalf of the students.
