SATURDAY - Chapel Hill police have released video surveillance photos that they believe shows a person of interest involved in the shooting of Student Body President Eve Carson attempting to withdraw money from an ATM with her bank card.

Police Chief Brian Curran said it was the biggest break in the investigation thus far.

The picture began circulating among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies about noon Friday.

Curran asked the public for an help in identifying the man. Those with information should call Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC Crimestoppers at 942-7515.

The photos appear to have been taken at a drive-through ATM in the Chapel Hill area. Curran said he does not believe any of Carson's other bank cards were accessed.

Police have received Carson's cell phone records, Curran said, and are now working to put together a timeline.

Crime scene technicians are continuing to document evidence found in Carson's car.

Curran said the crime still appears to be random.

Carson was found shot dead about 5 a.m. Wednesday. Her car was located on North Street about 2 p.m. Thursday. Police are unsure how long the car was at that location.

The car was found with a yellow parking violation sticker, which was put there before the car was identified as Carson's.
