With less than seven minutes to play, the No. 3 North Carolina's men's lacrosse team leads No. 5 Princeton 10-9 at Fetzer Field.

After jumping to an early 5-2 lead, UNC pushed the advantage to 7-2 midway through the second quarter on goals from Sean Delaney and Jimmy Dunster. But Princeton scored two goals in less than a minute to cut the margin to three at the break.

-Carmichael returns! The historic home of North Carolina basketball before the Smith Center, Carmichael Arena (newly christened after renovations) will serve as home court one last time since the Smith Center is under construction. This is the same court on which Phil Ford, Michael Jordan and countless other greats played.

GREENSBORO - Couple of pre-game notes on tonight's clash between Georgia Tech and North Carolina.

-Tonight is the first time UNC has appeared in the ACC Tournament's first round. UNC was the only current ACC team not to have played in a first-round game before this season.

As if the 82-50 loss to its arch rival wasn't enough injury, North Carolina was dealt insult by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association on Monday when they did not put a single Tar Heel on the first, second or third All-ACC teams.

It's the first time in the history of the ACC that UNC was not represented on at least one team on the honorary squad.

North Carolina's last outside shot of making the NCAA Tournament begins Thursday in Greensboro against Georgia Tech.

The Tar Heels finished 10th in the ACC and will play the No. 7 Yellow Jackets at 7 Thursday night in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

According to the East Texan Texas A&M-Commerce's student newspaper, all campus racks of the paper were emptied between 7 a.m and 8 a.m. on Feb. 25

North Carolina will try to become the second basketball program ever to win 2,000 games tonight in the Smith Center against Miami.

Tonight is also Senior Night for Marcus Ginyard, Deon Thompson, Marc Campbell, James Gallagher, Terrence Petree and Thomas Thornton.

Junior Will Graves sprained his ankle Thursday in practice, Roy Williams said at his pre-game press conference Friday.

Williams said he didn't know the extent of Graves' injury yet.
